Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and results driven Senior IT Project Manager, Enterprise Applications to lead complex technology and business transformation initiatives across the organization.

The immediate priority for this role is to assume leadership of the ongoing Tacton CPQ implementation, assess current project health, establish clear governance and accountability, and drive the program through successful implementation, business adoption, and stabilization.

Beyond Tacton, this role will establish a standardized project governance framework and lead a portfolio of strategic enterprise application initiatives, including CRM platform consolidation and the implementation of a project management software.

The successful candidate will combine strong project management discipline with business process understanding, technology implementation experience, and the confidence to challenge assumptions, hold internal teams and external partners accountable, and drive decisions. This person must be comfortable operating across business functions, IT, software vendors, and executive leadership.

This is not a project administration role. The successful candidate will be expected to independently assess complex initiatives, identify issues and dependencies, establish structure, and drive projects toward measurable business outcomes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Leadership for Enterprise Applications

  • Assume ownership of the ongoing Tacton CPQ implementation and drive the project through successful deployment, adoption, and stabilization.
  • Conduct an initial assessment of the Tacton program, including scope, requirements, configuration status, integrations, resources, timeline, budget, risks, vendor performance, and business readiness.
  • Establish a credible execution and recovery plan where gaps, delays, unclear ownership, or other project risks are identified.
  • Lead complex, cross functional technology projects from initiation and requirements definition through design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, stabilization, and business adoption.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, resource plans, budgets, risk and issue registers, decision logs, dependencies, and executive status reporting.
  • Establish clear project ownership, deliverables, milestones, decision rights, and accountability across business and technical teams.
  • Manage project scope, timeline, budget, quality, resources, and competing priorities.
  • Identify critical path activities and proactively remove obstacles that threaten successful project delivery.

Tacton CPQ Implementation

  • Lead the Tacton CPQ implementation in partnership with commercial teams, IT, Operations, Tacton, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Manage dependencies across CPQ, CRM, ERP, product and configuration data, pricing, quoting, approvals, and downstream order management processes.
  • Ensure business requirements, system configuration, integrations, testing, data, training, and deployment activities remain aligned with overall project objectives.
  • Establish clear ownership and accountability for outstanding requirements, decisions, defects, integrations, and implementation activities.
  • Ensure appropriate user acceptance testing, business readiness, training, deployment planning, and post implementation stabilization.
  • Measure implementation success based on business outcomes and adoption, not solely technical go live.

CRM Consolidation

  • Lead the consolidation of existing CRM platforms, processes, and data into a standardized enterprise CRM environment.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, IT, and other stakeholders to define future state requirements and business processes.
  • Drive decisions regarding process standardization, system requirements, data migration, integrations, reporting, security, and governance.
  • Coordinate technology partners and internal resources through design, implementation, testing, migration, deployment, and stabilization.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize processes across business units while balancing legitimate business requirements.
  • Establish adoption and success measures for the consolidated CRM environment.

Enterprise Project Management Platform

  • Lead the selection and/or implementation of enterprise project and management software.
  • Partner with Operations and IT leadership to establish standardized project management processes, governance, reporting, and visibility.
  • Define requirements for project planning, resource management, milestone tracking, risk and issue management, and status reporting.
  • Coordinate system configuration, testing, training, deployment, and adoption.
  • Establish practical project governance standards that can be consistently applied across the organization.

Stakeholder and Executive Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison among business stakeholders, IT teams, software vendors, consultants, and executive leadership.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committee reviews, working sessions, and executive status updates.
  • Provide concise, fact-based visibility into project health, accomplishments, upcoming milestones, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, budget impacts, and decisions required.
  • Challenge assumptions and plans when necessary and provide recommendations that enable informed decision making.
  • Translate complex technology and project issues into clear business implications and recommended actions.
  • Drive timely decisions and ensure unresolved issues do not delay project execution.

Vendor Management

  • Hold software vendors and consultants accountable for contractual deliverables, quality, timelines, resource commitments, and issue resolution.
  • Validate vendor project plans and assumptions rather than relying solely on vendor reported status.
  • Identify performance gaps early and establish corrective actions and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate responsibilities and dependencies between external partners and internal business and IT resources.
  • Escalate material vendor performance issues with clear business impact assessments and recommended actions.

Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management

  • Proactively identify project risks, issues, dependencies, resource constraints, and potential implementation barriers.
  • Develop mitigation, contingency, and recovery plans before issues materially affect project delivery.
  • Maintain disciplined risk, issue, action, and decision management processes.
  • Escalate critical matters at the appropriate time with clearly defined options, recommendations, owners, and business impacts.
  • Ensure significant project decisions and changes are documented and communicated.

Business Process and Change Management

  • Develop an understanding of the end-to-end business processes affected by each technology initiative.
  • Partner with functional leaders and subject matter experts to identify process gaps, conflicting requirements, and opportunities for standardization.
  • Coordinate business process changes with system design and implementation activities.
  • Develop and execute communication and change plans that support organizational readiness and adoption.
  • Coordinate testing, user acceptance testing, training, deployment, cutover, and transition to ongoing support.
  • Ensure business ownership continues beyond technical implementation and into sustained adoption.

Business Outcomes and Benefits Realization

  • Define measurable success criteria for major technology initiatives before implementation.
  • Track achievement of expected business outcomes following deployment.
  • Establish appropriate measures for adoption, process efficiency, data quality, cycle time, user experience, and other relevant operational improvements.
  • Partner with business leaders to address adoption or process issues that prevent expected benefits from being realized.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONAL, AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible IT project or program management experience, including leadership of complex enterprise application implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise applications through the full implementation lifecycle, including requirements, design, configuration, integration, data migration, testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, stabilization, and adoption.
  • Experience leading ERP, CPQ, CRM, manufacturing systems, or other significant enterprise application implementations.
  • Strong understanding of project and program management methodologies, governance, risk management, and implementation best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple business functions, technology teams, vendors, system integrators, and consultants within complex projects.
  • Experience managing project budgets, resources, scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, and vendor commitments.
  • Strong business process orientation with the ability to understand end to end processes and translate business objectives into executable technology plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently assess project health, identify gaps, establish structure, and develop credible execution or recovery plans.
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and executive level communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and problem solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability without relying solely on formal authority.
