Responsibilities

The Regulatory Project Engineer will serve as a key member of the Government Affairs Team and will contribute to advancing regulatory projects for Infiltrator Water Technologies’ (Infiltrator’s) wastewater product lines.  This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, engineering judgement, ability to understand regulatory requirements, interpersonal skills, and relationship building.  The Project Engineer will participate in state and provincial rulemaking,  standards development, compliance, and product launch initiatives for Infiltrator’s North American business.  These processes enhance and expand Infiltrator’s business in the onsite wastewater treatment system sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regulatory research and analyze regulations and possible changes to industry requirements
  • Prepare letters, reports, and literature pertaining to technical and regulatory issues
  • Support customer and sales team technical inquiries
  • Interface with regulatory agencies to gain product approvals
  • Participate in launching new products, including research and development on product designs
  • Develop strategies for completing projects and aligning deliverables with company goals
  • Deliver technical presentations in small group settings and trade shows
  • Collaborate with and manage outside technical consultants

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Entry level to 5+ years of experience in an engineering or technical field (consulting engineering industry experience a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or environmental engineering or related field, with advanced degree a plus
  • Professional engineer, engineer-in-training, registered sanitarian, or registered environmental health specialist, or other relevant credentials
  • Involvement with wastewater treatment systems, particularly onsite and/or decentralized systems
  • Excellent verbal communication in both individual and group settings
  • Excellent technical writing skills with proficiency developing well-written, well-organized documents
  • Independent problem solving and ability to quickly distill written information
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a changing, dynamic office environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as AutoCAD
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
