Responsibilities

NOW HIRING a Supplier Quality Engineer at our Winchester, Ky campus.

 

Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring suppliers provide products and materials that conform to product specifications and quality plans. This position works with the suppliers to develop and implement systems and procedures which ensure a continuous supply of quality products to IWT. This position will conduct supplier audits virtually or at their facilities. This position will implement corrective actions when requirements are not met.  Assists in the design and implementation of test methods for controlling purchased item quality. Leads cross functional teams to ensure compliance.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a supplier qualification and certification program for all purchased products and materials in support of ISO 9001 for control of suppliers
  • Audit the suppliers’ processes and procedures to ensure compliance to best-in-class practices in the manufacture and/or supply of items to IWT
  • Work with and educate under-performing suppliers to improve their processes which they employ to provide products to IWT that meet the requirements at a competitive price   
  • Create and manage Quality Plans and Work Instructions for purchased items
  • Acquire and manage the test results from suppliers for proof of compliance
  • Implement quality systems and processes to control the quality of the purchased items in compliance with ISO 9001
  • Develop KPIs and report monthly supplier performance metrics
  • Keep Supplier Score Cards current and in compliance with ISO 9001
  • Utilize measurement data to develop a continuous improvement quality action plan with a clear definition of objectives and associated actions with timelines
  • Resolve quality issues through DMAIC six-sigma methods
  • Employ a methodology of continuous improvement with the supplier base
  • Oversee and perform trials on supplied products
  • Maintain documentation for approved suppliers at IWT, Delta Treatment Systems, EZflow, and Presby Environmental
  • Work with manufacturing and suppliers to review customer concerns that involve supplied products. Create and respond with corrective actions to issues that involve a supplied product.
  • Work with purchasing to identify, qualify, and verify potential suppliers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in quality related field
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and ERP systems
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Certified Quality Engineer from ASQ preferred
  • Able to travel 10% of the time via commercial transportation
  • Have a passport or able to obtain a passport for travel to other countries
