The Senior Regulatory Specialist will serve as a senior member of the Government Affairs Team and contribute to advancing regulatory projects for Infiltrator Water Technologies’ (Infiltrator’s) wastewater product lines. Provide a combination of technical knowledge, engineering judgement, ability to understand regulatory requirements, interpersonal skills, and relationship building. Participate in state and provincial rulemaking, standards development, compliance, and product launch initiatives for Infiltrator’s North American business. Provide a particular focus on enhancing and expanding Infiltrator’s advanced treatment system business and associated product portfolio. Employ expertise in the regulation, approval, and management of nutrient-reducing advancing wastewater treatment systems with experience in multiple regulatory jurisdictions. Maintain relationships with onsite wastewater treatment system stakeholders across the industry.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop policies, rules, laws, and standards pertaining to advanced wastewater treatment systems and other company product offerings
• Collaborate with colleagues on existing and new regulatory projects to meet business objectives
• Conduct regulatory research and analyze regulations and possible changes to industry requirements
• Prepare letters, reports, and literature pertaining to technical and regulatory issues
• Support customer and sales team technical inquiries
• Interface with regulatory agencies to gain product approvals
• Interface with legislatures and other policymakers to promote and improve the advanced treatment regulatory framework
• Participate in launching new products, including research and development on product designs
• Develop strategies for completing projects and aligning deliverables with company goals
• Deliver technical presentations in conferences and trade shows
• Collaborate with and manage outside lobbyists, attorney, and technical consultants

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONAL, AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• 15+ years of experience regulating or managing advanced wastewater treatment systems
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or environmental science or engineering or related field, with advanced degree a plus
• Involvement with wastewater treatment systems, particularly onsite and/or decentralized systems
• Excellent verbal communication in both individual and group settings
• Excellent technical writing skills with proficiency developing well-written, well-organized documents
• Independent problem solving and ability to quickly distill written information
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a changing, dynamic office environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel 15% of the time
