POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer for our Manufacturing campus in Winchester, KY.  This is a full-time, on site, exempt position that reports directly into our technical team. This position is highly critical to our overall market leadership strategy and has project leadership responsibility.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installation, modification, programming, troubleshooting and repair of highly engineered and highly automated industrial equipment controlled by PLC, PC and other dedicated controls.
  • Design, plan, install and program complex controls systems and networks for injection molding, material handling and other specialized equipment utilizing PLC and HMI software for brands like; Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Beckhoff.
  • Lead the programming and troubleshooting of flexible automation with robots and gantries.
  • Manage relationships with key partners, vendors, and suppliers in executing assigned projects to ensure successful completion.
  • Take the lead on specifying vendors for replacement parts, continuous improvement, and value creation.
  • Work with other teams and assist in routine maintenance and emergency repairs of equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (must have):

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 7 years industrial experience
  • Proven PLC and HMI Programming experience - Siemens / Beckhoff / Allen Bradley / B&R.
  • Proven Industrial Networking experience - Profinet, Profibus, WinCC, ServoMotion, EtherCAT, Ignition / SQL / Allen Bradley / Factory Talk.
  • Fanuc robotics programming experience.
  • Must be able to work in adverse working conditions such as heat, wet, cold, noise, etc.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, data interpretation and communicate them timely and succinctly.
  • Knowledge of safety practices such as lockout/tagout, MSHA, NFPA 70E, and proper use of PPE
